SCHOOL SPORTS PARTNERSHIP
In Enfield there are two School Sport Partnerships, Enfield LA and Lea Valley, which are managed by the Partnership Development Managers (PDM's). The 2 FE colleges, 18 secondary, 64 primary, 6 special and 2 support units in Enfield are all included in the two partnerships. As a result of the 2007/08 PESSCL survey both partnership were awarded the "Partnership Mark" for achieving an outstanding 94% of all young people participating in two or more hours of high quality PE and School Sport per week. This was 4% above the national average making Enfield the top performing London Borough.
The aim of the School Sport Partnership programme is to support schools in the delivery of high quality PE in curriculum time and out of school hours. At each secondary school there is a School Sport Co-ordinator (SSCo) who works within their own school and with their feeder primary schools, to increase and develop the range of high quality PE and School Sport opportunities that are on offer to young people. At each primary and special school / support unit there is an identified PE Co-ordinator and at each FE college a Further Education Sport Co-ordinator (FESCo).
